The Caseificio di Campo Felice cheese dairy

A place to point out to food lovers: the gastronomic outpost of the Caseificio di Campo Felice. It's a wooden building in the Vecchia Miniera locality.

Hikers and regulars of the Campo Felice ski slopes know the dairy well, clearly visible from the road that leads to the  lifts. Almost impossible to go past it without seeing it.

We saw the business grow back when there was still no canopy and no tables for eating.
You can enjoy a few good sandwiches with sausage and scamorza under a large canopy, or stretched out in the sun on the surrounding meadows. An alternative meeting place to spend a few hours relaxing far from the stress of the city.

The special thing about this little shop is that it offers the dairy products made at the Lucoli dairy, a few kilometres from Campo Felice. You often find mozzarella and ricotta made that very day.

The pride of the Di Carlo family is producing cheese by hand. We also heard it from the school groups who can visit the farm to see how cheese is made.

At the Caseificio's little wooden house you can buy at really remarkable value for money. You can find mozzarella, scamorza appassita, caciocavallo, provolone, mixed pecorino, mild caciotte, pecorino creams (marcetto), fresh or aged ricotta, butter and, to finish, an excellent choice of cured meats.

The hallmark of this little shop is that it offers customers a wide shelf of products (honey, jams, fine oils) to go with the cheese tasting.
Also interesting is the choice of “unfindable” wines and beers the shop offers.

All in all the business is a wonderful example of zero-kilometre production and selling!

In winter the shop is open only at weekends; in summer you can find it open every day.

6 tables available and very clean toilets.
