Appennino.Tv officially recognises the Albrizio-Carusi-Osti-Rolle list of the Apennine 2000s. The list is adopted by the Club 2000m and certified by the Società Geografica Italiana (Italian Geographical Society). Many members of the Appennino.Tv Community are currently members of the Club 2000m and take part in its social events as well as in the scientific research into the exact position and altitude of the peaks.

We are keen to stress that seeking out the Apennine summits over 2000 metres and collecting them one after another is not a competition against anyone. Instead, we like to adopt this list as a guide to discovering a new mountain: the list in fact helps us to look for these summits.

To find out more about the Club 2000 you can visit the website:  Club 2000m

The list can be consulted in various forms:

"kmz" files with the position of the peaks on Google Earth.

Each file contains all the peaks of a single group: just download it, unzip it and import it into Google Earth.

How to use the list to plan your outings

The list by mountain group is the most practical for organising a hike: it lets you see which summits can be linked in the same day or in a traverse. The one by descending altitude helps you get an idea of the most demanding peaks and choose goals suited to your fitness. The Google Earth files are useful for studying the position of the peaks before setting off, but they are no substitute for the hiking map and the route track.

Remember that not all these peaks have a waymarked path to the summit: always assess difficulty, navigation and weather conditions. For the ascent routes we recommend the guide dedicated to the ascent routes to the Apennine 2000s.
