Regio tratturo from Pescasseroli to Candela

Società Editrice Ricerche, as usual, confirms its style, its editorial competence and its eagerness to keep proposing new products. In the pages of the new guide we once again find the ability to experiment with an ever new way of communicating.

The book... it is not a book... it is an atlas... perhaps a hiking guide... no, a hiking guide and an atlas together. A very interesting new publication, to be used both for repeating the whole route from Pescasseroli to Candela and for walking single sections of it.

From a technical point of view the book is made of very tough pages, perhaps 180 or 200 gr. / cm paper; they certainly did not skimp on the need to produce a durable book. The sheets are spiral-bound in metal for easier consultation even during the journey.

After a substantial introduction of 26 pages, the text is divided into 15 chapters, one for each stage of the trek. Each chapter has an introduction with geographical and historical notes. Then we have the map of the stage, with a geographical base of fair quality but above all a clear and perfectly legible route line. Route description, places to stay, historical notes and height profile make the guide complete and exhaustive. “Emotions of the day” is the new element, never seen before; they serve a purpose, they make the guide less distant, more human... the feelings are often accompanied by intelligent reflections from the authors, thoughts that are often easy to share.

Excellent photos, they really whet the appetite... the urge to walk...

Compliments are due to the authors, who walked the route and reported on it in such detail, and also to the publisher, which bet on a product that is decidedly innovative compared with the many already on the market that just echo one another.
