30 routes in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park

A small guide, light and handy, it gathers 30 routes in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park (the doyen of Italian parks) in the footsteps of Carlo Reynaudi.

A lawyer, hiker and popular writer, he was the author of the first guide, "Ceresole Reale e la valle dell'Orco" (1896), devoted to one of the most beautiful places in the Gran Paradiso park, already well known to the Savoy nobility.
Each route comes with a precise description rich in detail, starting and finishing points, height gain, difficulty, recommended period for the hike, map references and elevation profile. The walking time, unless otherwise stated, refers to the ascent.
An interesting feature of this guide is the way it links places with history. The authors, Guido Novaria and Giovanni Dematteis, wanted to bring the hiker closer to the Gran Paradiso through knowledge of the huts, the people and the events that took place in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park. The text is in fact studded with boxes and paragraphs that enrich both the walk and the hiker.

The guide is the fruit of the passion and loyalty that Guido Novaria (a journalist at La Stampa) and Giovanni Dematteis (who works for SanPaolo) feel towards the Gran Paradiso. The authors  are among the founders of the "Amici del Gran Paradiso" association
