A slow day on Monte Porcini (1982 m), in the Monte Terminillo group, with my friend, the philosopher Paolo Franzò. No alarm at dawn and no race to the summit: just the pleasure of walking, talking and looking around.
Limestone pinnacles, meadows still green and the great bulk of the Terminillo always in front of us. On the way down autumn arrives on tiptoe: beeches turning gold, the yellow leaves of the maple, the red berries of the dog rose. Monte di Cambio stays there, waiting for us another time.
Where: Terminillo group, Monti Reatini (Lazio). When: 28 September 2026. Difficulty: easy hike with no demanding sections.
