Introduction: Summits that are not easy to reach in winter become a hike for children of enormous satisfaction and fun when there is no snow cover. Conquering Pizzo Tre Vescovi starting from Rifugio del Fargno is an easy route, within everyone's reach. Usually this route can be combined with other summits such as Pizzo Berro or Monte Acuto, but it can easily end, during the months of summer opening, with a lunch at Rifugio del Fargno.

Route features:  The traces of path are clear and precise, with no chance of getting lost, and they go all the way to the summit. The summit cross is visible right from the start. Only one  exposed point on the path, at a little drainage gully.

Route description

It is almost more complicated to get to Rifugio del Fargno than to walk the path that starts from here for Pizzo Tre Vescovi. From the car park where you left the car you head for the hut and go past it, as far as the foot of the western ridge of Pizzo Tre Vescovi. You meet a path that, from the area of loose rubble near the hut, slowly climbs the northern ridge of Pizzo Tre Vescovi up to a little saddle with Monte Acuto. We leave Monte Acuto behind us and right in front of us appears the path that leads to the summit, keeping to the north-eastern side of Pizzo Tre Vescovi. The advantage of this route is a short, gradual climb that lets you gain 300 metres of height in just an hour of walking, or a little more.

Variants and alternatives

An alternative to this route is the climb to the nearby Monte Acuto. From Pizzo Tre Vescovi you go back to the little saddle and climb north. On the saddle we have the sharp profile of Monte Acuto. Careful, because the climb to the Acuto does require the agility to get over little grade I moves. This is not a route suitable for children, unlike Pizzo Tre Vescovi, which is ideal for inexperienced hikers.

Notes on effort and difficulty

A non-tiring route, suitable for everyone.
